Question:
FreeDMG is unexpectedly quitting immediately when I attempt to start the application.
Answer:
Sometimes, application preferences can get corrupted. When the application attempts to read these, it can cause the program to crash. Removing preference files is generally a good idea when troubleshooting problems with individual programs. If you cannot get FreeDMG to open, try to remove the preference file located at "~/Library/Preferences/net.kelleycomputing.freedmg.plist" where the "~" represents your home directory. FreeDMG, and most other applications will re-create a preference file if one does not exist.
Often, when a program crashes in Mac OS X, it logs this information into a "CrashReporter" folder. This is usually located at "~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter". These files can be helpful in troubleshooting problems with Mac OS X. E-mail these reports using the contact page.
